BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie said, “Reform is an ongoing process. The minimum reforms that are required are mentioned in the 31 points formulated by BNP. As part of this reform, the trials of the murders that took place during the Sheikh Hasina government must be made visible. The trial of those who gave the order to open fire on unarmed students from helicopters will also come under this. This election-time trial must be visible before the people.”
He said these things at a day-long training workshop organized by BNP at the Lalmonirhat Zilla Parishad Auditorium on Tuesday (April 22) morning.
BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman will join the workshop virtually at 4 pm and speak.
Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie further said, “In the last 15 years, the fascist government has destroyed every sector of the country. In order to overcome that situation, BNP has formulated 31 points of state reform after discussing with people from all classes and professions. Now our main objective is to involve the common people in these 31 points.”
He said, “The Bangladesh Nationalist Party gained popularity with the aim of making the country self-reliant in the context of self-socialization. As an architect of modern Bangladesh, the nation will forever remember the contribution that martyred President Ziaur Rahman made to running the country in a short time.”
This top BNP leader further said, “We have fought and struggled to restore the country’s democracy. We have been greatly affected, persecuted and have lost many dear brothers.”
He said, “One-man rule will not work anymore. For this, political programs are being implemented in every division and district in a coordinated manner. These programs have been formulated in consultation with the party’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman. There has been extensive discussion on this issue at the highest level of the party. Preparations are being made to run the state on a nationalist basis with all those who are directly involved in BNP politics and those who have played politics under the leadership of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman.
