Selim Chowdhury Hira, Laksham: After a long 29 years, the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami workers’ conference was held in Laksam, Comilla.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar was the chief guest at the workers’ conference jointly organized by Laksam Upazila and Municipality Jamaat at Laksam Pilot High School grounds on Friday (April 18) at 8 am.
At that time, he said, “After seventeen long years, we were able to hold a workers’ conference in an open environment in Laksham.” He thanked the Almighty and said, “For 16 years, Bangladesh was buried under a giant stone called Sheikh Hasina.”
The Bengali nation was liberated through the mass movement of students against discrimination in 2024. The Awami League has made a farce with the Bengali nation in the name of elections.
In 2014, without an election, in 2018, voting was held at night, and in 2024, we repeatedly came to power through the drama of “I and Dami”.
He said, “Numerous leaders and activists across the country, including the central leaders of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, have been unjustly killed.”
The entire Bangladesh has become a burning place due to the unbearable oppression of the Awami League. Sheikh Hasina’s government wanted to remain in power by jailing and oppressing the Ulema and religious believers of the country. But it cannot remain in power by committing injustice, oppression and tyranny.
He further said, “Without the laws of the Quran and Sunnah, a human-written constitution cannot achieve the welfare of the people. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is working to build a benevolent nation in the light of the Quran and Sunnah. Only in this way can the law of Allah be established on earth.”
Later, he said, the current interim government called for the organization and judicial activities to be completed within the announced time frame and the national parliamentary elections to be held.
Comilla South District Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary Professor Dr. AKM Syed Sarwar Uddin Siddiqui has 7 demands for the people of Laksam-Manoharganj, namely (1) Immediately declare Laksam a district (2) Establish an independent university named “Nawab Faizunnesa Chowdhurani Science and Technology University” (3) Establish a 500-bed medical college and hospital in Laksam (4) Establish a new railway line from Laksam to Narayanganj (5) Upgrade Laksam Chauddagram Road, Laksam Muzaffarganj Road, Lalmai-Chandpur Road to four lanes (6) Quickly complete the work of Laksam bypass and the remaining two-lane road of Bagmara Bazar (7) Immediately make arrangements to start the airport in Comilla.
