Special Correspondent: The government has appointed prominent social worker and journalist Muhammad Abu Abid as the spokesperson (media and social media) of the Ministry of Public Administration. A notification in this regard signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Md. Saif Uddin Gias was issued on April 15 from the Administration-1 branch of the Ministry of Public Administration. The notification states that Muhammad Abu Abid will take effective measures/initiatives to highlight the government’s activities related to the Ministry of Public Administration through social media and prevent the dissemination of false information in print and electronic media including social media. The conditions of this appointment are stated in the notification.
Muhammad Abu Abid is currently a popular social worker, young journalist and an inspiration to the youth. Muhammad Abu Abid has established the social organization “Durbar Tarunya Foundation” with the aim of changing the society. He has made his social works popular in a short time using social media. Muhammad Abu Abid also chose journalism as a tool to speak out against the irregularities and injustices of society. He has worked in many national and regional media outlets for 8 years in his journalism career. Currently, he is the Managing Editor and Online Chief of a Dhaka-based newspaper, the Spokesperson and Joint General Secretary of the Television Reporters Association of Bangladesh (TRAB), and the Spokesperson and Central Organizing Secretary of the Dhaka Metropolitan Crime Reporters Society.
Although Muhammad Abu Abid was born in Chittagong, his ancestral home is in Patuakhali. His social work has already received widespread praise in the online world. He has also been awarded various international and national awards for adopting and implementing unique ideas in social work. His struggle and humanitarian path in appointing the spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Administration and the quality of combining online knowledge and media that is inspired by youth, all of this will bring about a epoch-making change, this is everyone’s expectation.
