An app is being launched from this center to provide various services to pilgrims, solve emerging problems, settle complaints, answer questions and get necessary information and data together. There are many other facilities, which will make the Hajj pilgrimage easier.

This year’s Hajj pilgrims will not have to carry cash. For this, a debit card will be given. At the same time, the government is going to provide low-cost roaming (using the Saudi Arabian mobile phone network using a Bangladeshi SIM). The Hajj Management Center is also starting a system to track the luggage of pilgrims.

These services will be inaugurated soon by Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, according to the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, in the meeting of the National Committee on Hajj Management held on February 25 at the office of the Chief Advisor, it was decided to establish a ‘Hajj Management Center’ in the country, Mecca and Medina to ensure smooth Hajj. Instructions were given to take measures to provide various services to Hajj pilgrims, solve emerging problems, settle complaints and obtain necessary information and data through a modern technology-based app in the Hajj Management Center.

Joint Secretary (Hajj Branch) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Md. Manjurul Haque told Media, ‘The work of the Hajj Management Center is underway. It will be set up at the Ashkona Hajj Office. He said, ‘Debit cards will be given to the pilgrims. You will recharge money from here, spend it there. There is a decision about mobile phone roaming. Pilgrims will no longer have to go there and buy SIMs, they will get roaming facilities at a low cost. This matter will be finalized between April 20-22. I hope this time our pilgrims will be able to perform Hajj more smoothly.’

Officials of the Hajj Division of the Ministry of Religious Affairs said that the app will provide necessary assistance to pilgrims before, during and after their journey. This app will provide real-time instructions and assistance in Bengali language. Financial transactions in foreign local currencies will be ensured through special debit cards of Islamic banks. Because, sometimes, Hajj pilgrims have problems carrying cash. Some lose their cash and end up in extreme danger.

They also said that there will be a luggage tracking system to ensure that luggage is not lost. Because it is very common for Bangladeshis to lose their luggage during Hajj. This causes extreme suffering to the pilgrims. There will be a kind of electric chip in the luggage, so the luggage can be monitored by sitting at the call center.

Through the app, the pilgrims will be able to know the details of the day’s activities and travel through their mobile phones every day. It will remind them of the prayers they have to recite on the day, and will describe the history of the holy places they will visit with pictures.

If the pilgrims have any questions, they will call the call center and get answers to those questions. If they feel unwell, the call center staff will put them in touch with a doctor. If the pilgrims have any suggestions, they can write them on the suggestion page. Officials of the Ministry of Religion also said that all arrangements will be made on the app so that the daily hassles of travel do not hinder the main goal of Hajj.

The Hajj will be held on June 5, subject to the sighting of the moon. This time, 5,200 people from Bangladesh will perform Hajj through the government and 87,100 through private agencies. Registration of pilgrims began on September 1 and ended on December 26. Visa issuance for pilgrims began on February 19. Hajj flights will begin on April 29. This time, 941 Hajj agencies have participated in the Hajj activities.

This year, the cost of performing Hajj through the government has been estimated at 4,78,242 taka for general package-1 and 5,75,680 taka for general package-2. On the other hand, the minimum cost of performing Hajj through the private agency is 4,83,156 taka for general package.
