Titas Police have arrested a reserved female UP member and her son with Yaba in Titas Upazila of Comilla. On Tuesday night, a special anti-drug operation led by Titas Police OC Mohammad Shahid Ullah in Machimpur village of Kalakandi Union of the upazila was conducted and the accused were arrested from their homes along with 30 packets of Yaba tablets and drug-making equipment. The arrested persons are Champa Begum, a reserved female UP member of Wards 1,2,3 of Kalakandi Union of the upazila, and her son Joy Sarkar. According to police sources, there are multiple drug and robbery cases against the arrested accused. Titas Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Shahid Ullah said that two accused have been arrested with Yaba and drug-using equipment. He also said that there are 10 drug cases against UP member Champa Begum and 9 drug and robbery cases against her son Joy. The arrested will be sent to jail through the court after the legal process on Wednesday.
