On April 15, the Comilla Metropolitan City meeting of the Comilla Bachao Mancha was held on the ground floor of the Comilla Cooperative Bank building.
Advocate Nazmus Sadat chaired today’s preparatory meeting aimed at making a successful protest rally at the Comilla EPZ North Gate on April 20, 2025 at 11 am demanding the cessation of the flow of chemical waste from the EPZ into the natural canals of the City Corporation and the cleaning of the canals in the south to resolve waterlogging for the city residents before the next monsoon.
In the meeting, it was decided that at least 10 citizens from all wards should be present at the Comilla EPZ North Gate by 10:45 am on the 20th. Moreover, the role of the City Corporation in keeping the canals in the south clean to keep the city residents free from waterlogging in the coming monsoon was criticized. In addition, the construction of the Gomti dam to protect the city, the launch of gardens, the construction of walls in front of houses and markets by the army in ward no. 19, waterlogging, market management, expansion of the city area, etc. were discussed.
