Colorful procession and rural folk fair inaugurated in Barura on the occasion of Bengali New Year

The inauguration of the Ananda Shobhajatra, Grameen Baisakhi and Folk Fair was held in Barura, Comilla, organized by the upazila administration to celebrate the Bengali New Year 1432.
On Monday, April 14, at 10 am, a joyous procession was held at the Barura Upazila Parishad premises under the chairmanship of Upazila Nirbahi Officer (Additional Responsibilities) and Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Umme Muslima. The procession circled the market road and ended at the Upazila Parishad grounds.

Barura Police Station Officer-in-Charge Kazi Nazmul Haque, Barura Upazila Women’s Affairs Officer Afroza Begum, Upazila Youth Development Officer Md. Borhan Uddin, General Secretary of Barura Press Club Md. Elias Ahmed, Correspondent of Daily Sangbad Journalist Salil Biswas, Kazi Momin Ullah Bhuiyan, Staff Reporter of Daily Samajkanth and Daily Barura Kanth Journalist Md. Sharif Uddin, Abu Yusuf Rabet, along with officials of various departments, heads of educational institutions and leaders of social and cultural organizations were present at the time.
The program began with the students of Barura Government Girls High School and Kishore Kishore Club performing the national anthem and the song Eso He Boishakh Eso Eso. A delightful cultural program was organized at 4 pm. The day-long rural Baisakhi and folk fair showcased old pithas of rural Bengal and various items familiar with rural daily life.
