Pirojpur University of Science and Technology (PUBST) celebrated its 4th University Day with various arrangements and great enthusiasm and excitement. The day’s formalities began at 11 am on April 13 with the hoisting of the national and university flags in the administrative building premises. Barisal University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Suchita Sharmin and PUBST Syndicate Member Barrister M. Sarwar Hossain were present as invited guests at the event. PUBST Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Shahidul Islam inaugurated the 4th University Day by releasing balloons and cutting a cake with the guests. Later, a joy rally with the participation of all those present circled the city’s CO Office intersection and ended at the university’s administrative building.
Pirojpur University of Science and Technology Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Shahidul Islam said, “This university was established with the aim of developing professional skills in science and technology education, maintaining compatibility with the advancing world, achieving equality, and creating opportunities for science and technology education and research at the national level. There is no alternative to science and technology education to keep pace with the current world. Science and technology are the only tools to change the world.”
He said, “All the changes that have taken place in the world are due to science and technology. How we use science and technology depends on us. If our intentions are good, we can use science and technology for public welfare. Therefore, our main objective is to create good people through this institution. As per the expectations of the new generation, we will take this university forward with the collective cooperation of everyone.”
At this time, he sought the full cooperation of the people of Pirojpur to develop Pirojpur University of Science and Technology into a complete and world-class institution.
Barisal University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Suchita Sharmin said, “I am very happy to be present at this event of Pirojpur University of Science and Technology. I wish this young university continued success and prosperity.”
Barrister M Sarwar Hossain, syndicate member of PBPRB, said, “I sincerely thank those who worked behind the establishment of this university in the southern region. At the same time, I also thank those who are taking the university forward. Pirojpur Science and Technology University will play a major role in advancing the culture, harmony and education of Pirojpur.”
Sheikh Rafiqul Islam, Principal of Pirojpur Government Women’s College, said, “I hope that the overall activities of this university will become more dynamic with the dedicated efforts of the current administration.”
Daily Ittefaq’s Pirojpur Bureau Chief Md. Muniruzzaman Nasim Ali said, “With the commencement of academic activities of the University of Science and Technology in Pirojpur, hundreds of new souls have arrived in this city. I welcome them through today’s foundation anniversary program. At the same time, I wish the foundation anniversary success.”
The event was attended by Panna Lal Roy, Principal of Government Suhrawardy College, Pirojpur, Ziaul Ahsan, Pirojpur correspondent of the Daily Observer, and students, teachers, officials and employees of the university.
