Tanvir Ahmed, Executive Engineer of the Roads and Highways Department, Pirojpur, inaugurated the program from the Bekutia Bridge Toll Plaza on Thursday, April 10.
Also present at the time were,Sub-Divisional Engineer Road Sub-Division, Kaukhali T.M. Rajimul Alim Raju, Deputy Assistant Engineer Md. Fakrul Islam, President of Pirojpur Journalist Forum S.M. Sohel Billah, Senior Vice President M.A. Jalil, General Secretary S.M. Abu Jafar, Organizing Secretary Shahin Fakir, Admin of the contractor company of Bekutia Bridge Toll Plaza Md. Masud Rana, etc.
At this time, the executive engineer, along with his colleagues, handed out leaflets to the drivers and ordinary passengers of each vehicle and advised everyone to comply with all the rules and regulations of the Road Transport Act. Currently, the rate of road accidents in our country has increased alarmingly. Not only the driver or passenger, but everyone, including pedestrians, is partly responsible for this situation. Therefore, to ensure safety on the road, it is important for all of us to be aware.
Although the government has taken various initiatives, they cannot be successfully implemented without the active cooperation of the people. It is only through the collective efforts of all of us that it is possible to reduce accidents and build a safe road system. Keeping this goal in mind, the Roads and Highways Department is distributing awareness leaflets to increase public awareness. I hope everyone will pay attention to it, be aware and make others aware as well. Let us all work together for safe roads.
