Human chain formed to protest attacks on businesses in Barisal

The Barisal District Motorcycle Parts Business Association has formed a human chain to protest the terrorist attack, vandalism, and looting on Hawa Motors, a business owned by Abdul Rahim Talukder, a businessman from Bhatar Canal, Ward No. 10, Barisal city, and to demand the maximum punishment for the attackers.
The human chain was held on Bhatar Khal Band Road at 11 am on Thursday (April 10).
The victim, businessman Rahim Talukder, filed a complaint with the Kotwali Model Police Station, naming 4 people as accused and 10/15 as unknown accused in the attack.

According to the complaint, the house of the victim businessman Rahim Talukder was robbed on March 29. Suspecting the theft, he asked Salam Howlader, a local dignitary, about the theft, and he told him about it. After filing a written complaint with the police station about the theft, on April 8, at around 7 pm, 15/20 terrorists, led by Ward No. 10 Volunteer Party convener Md. Mamun, attacked the victim businessman’s shop, vandalized it and looted its goods. Two employees in the shop were injured in the attack.
The victim, businessman Rahim Talukder, said that the attackers were Md. Mamun, Reba Begum, Rahima Begum and Salam Howlader, along with 10-15 others from the Bhatar Canal area.
Touhidul Islam Jewel, general secretary of the Barisal District Motorcycle Parts Business Association, said that attacks, vandalism and looting of businesses are not desirable. The administration should take care to ensure that such incidents do not happen again in the coming days.
The culprits must be identified and arrested immediately.
Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge at Barisal Kotwali Model Police Station, said that the victim businessman has complained and legal action will be taken subject to investigation.
