A visitor has been caught trying to supply ganja specially hidden inside shoes for an inmate at Comilla Central Jail. The accused person is currently in prison custody.
Senior Jail Superintendent of Comilla Central Jail Halima Khatun confirmed the matter on Tuesday (April 8) afternoon.
According to prison sources, at around 3:50 pm on Tuesday, Motaleb Hossain, son of Zolmat Mia of Badsha Mia Bazar area of ​​Comilla city, came to the prison canteen with a pair of leather shoes and some clothes for Motaleb Hossain, a prisoner detained in Shanto Prison (prisoner no. 4001/24). He handed them over to the prison guard on duty (no. 22418) Md. Masud.
When the prison guard became suspicious after seeing the structure of the shoe, he showed the matter to his fellow prison guard (No. 23056) Md. Sunny. Later, Shanto was taken to the reserve guard and when the sole of the shoe was opened, three packets of marijuana wrapped in white polythene were recovered.
Confirming the truth of the incident, the senior jail superintendent further said that the visitor Shanto has been detained and kept in the reserve guard and a case is under process against him.
