Mosahid Ahmed, Moulvibazar: A human chain and protest procession was organized in the city by the Moulvibazar District Lawyers Association after boycotting the court over the murder of young lawyer Sujan Mia (32), who was killed in a robbery at an illegally set up shop and a tobacco shop in front of the Mayor’s Square of Moulvibazar Municipality. On Monday, April 7, around 11 am, the protest procession started from the District Bar Association’s premises and after parading various roads of the city, it ended in front of the District Bar. The human chain was addressed by – Senior Lawyer Advocate Md. Mujibur Rahman, Adv. Shantipada Ghosh, Adv. Mamunur Rashid, Adv. Abdul Matin Chowdhury, Adv. Baksi Zubair Ahmed, Adv, Ramakanta Das Gupta, Adv. Mahbubur Rahman Shamim, Adv. Niamul Haque, etc. The speakers said on the death of their colleague – Sujan’s killers must be arrested immediately within the next 48 hours. Otherwise, we will announce a more severe movement. On Sunday, April 6, after 10:30 pm, lawyer Sujan and 4 friends were sitting at a fusca shop on the sidewalk north of Mayor Chattar and were having fusca. At that time, 7 to 8 teenagers came and stood next to lawyer Sujan Mia. One of them stabbed him and fled together. Later, the people and locals who were with him rescued him and took him to the 250-bed Sadar General Hospital in Moulvibazar, where the doctor on duty declared him dead. Upon receiving the news, his family members and colleagues rushed to the hospital. He is the son of Zahirul Islam of East Hilalpur (Khidur) area of ​​the suburbs. The ancestral home of the deceased lawyer Sujan Mia is in the Dhublapara area of ​​Ward No. 1 of Brahmanbaria municipal area. Moulvibazar Sadar Model Police Station OC (Investigation) Minhaj Uddin confirmed the incident and said, “A post-mortem report has been prepared. The reason for the murder is not yet known, and a police operation is underway to arrest the accused.”
