Former member of parliament from Pirojpur-1 constituency Allama Delwar Hossain Sayedee has been subjected to judicial and medical killing, his son and Jamaat-e-Islami’s nominated candidate from Pirojpur-1 constituency Masud Sayedee has alleged.
He made these comments at a view-exchange meeting with local journalists in Pirojpur on Tuesday (March 18) afternoon.
The meeting, chaired by Sohrab Hossain Jewel, President of the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Pirojpur District Media Department, and moderated by Bashir Khan, President of the Kaukhali Press Club, was attended by Tafazzal Hossain Farid, Ameer of the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Pirojpur District Branch, District Nayeb Ameer Maulana Abdur Rob, District Secretary Zahirul Haque, District Assistant Secretary Maulana Abdur Razzak Sheikh, President of the Pirojpur Press Club SM Rezaul Islam Shamim, General Secretary of the Press Club SM Tanvir Ahmed, Representative of GTV and Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Mizanur Rahman, President of the Pirojpur Journalists Forum SM Sohel Billah, General Secretary of the Pirojpur Journalists Forum SM Abu Zafar, District Representative of Independent TV Tamim Sardar, Staff Reporter of the Daily Present Times Newspaper Md. Shahin Fakir, District Representative of Ananda TV M. Naqib Nasrullah and other journalists from various print and electronic media.
Masud Saeedi said, “My father has been unjustly subjected to judicial and medical killing. We will file a case in court seeking justice in this incident and are collecting information and evidence in this regard.”
At that time, he complained, “The Awami League government destroyed a lot of information and evidence while in power.”
Masud Sayedee said that Jamaat-e-Islami plans to field candidates for all seats in the country in the upcoming national elections. He expressed hope that the elections will be held in a competitive and neutral environment.
In response to a question from journalists, he said, “Political parties make various promises before coming to power, but they do not implement them once they come to power. This is past history. Students may not be able to trust political parties because of that experience. That is why they formed their own parties.”
During the exchange of views, Masud Sayedee answered various questions from journalists and listened to their suggestions. He sought cooperation from journalists in the future.
