No mystery has been uncovered even 7 months after the house of Harun, a staff member at the Election Commission office in Amtali, was burglarized. However, the victim, Harun, has alleged that this is due to the lax administration’s actions.
Last (August 11), about 445,000 taka, including gold and cash, was stolen from the house of Md. Harun Or Rashid, a staff member of the Election Commission office, in Amtoli, Barguna. Even after 7 months of filing a complaint with the police, there is no mystery surrounding the theft.
According to the complaint, Md. Harun Or Rashid, a staff member of the Amtali Election Commission office, lives in the house of Md. Shamim Howlader, adjacent to the Madrasa Complex on the east side of Amtali Bakulnesa Women’s College.
At 5:45 pm on August 11, Harun’s family members went up to the roof of the house to take a walk. At that time, the gang of thieves, who were waiting to find the house empty, entered the house, broke into the cupboards and display cases, and fled with about 3 gold bars and 1 lakh 5 thousand taka in cash.
However, Harun’s family members were unable to identify the thieves even after watching the CCTV footage.
In this regard, the victim Harun Or Rashid said, “My house was stolen 7 months ago. I filed a complaint with Amtali Police Station on August 11. The investigating officer was SI Tanzil Alam. Even today, even after 7 months, no mystery of the theft has been solved.”
