Aditmari Upazila of Lalmonirhat, an allegation is being made against the acting principal of the same college for making sexual advances to an HSC examinee over a mobile phone. The father of the victim SSC examinee has filed a written complaint with the District Commissioner, including various departments, seeking justice from the principal.
Lalmonirhat Deputy Commissioner HM Rakib Haider confirmed the receipt of the complaint.
According to the complaint, a class 12 student of Mahishkhocha Bahumukhi High School and College in Aditmari Upazila of Lalmonirhat is a 2025 HSC examinee. She is affected by river erosion and her father is a daily wage laborer, so she applied to the Principal (acting) Md. Rabiul Alam to reduce the fee for filling out the form. Then the student was asked by Principal Rabiul to give him his mobile number and contact him later.
On March 9, after Iftar and prayers, the student turned on the mobile speaker in front of his mother and elder sister and called Principal Rabiul Alam to inquire about filling out the form. After getting to know the girl, the Principal of Mahishkhocha Bahumukhi High School and College asked her to meet him at night. The girl repeatedly said, “How can I meet a girl at night?” Then the accused principal said, “You should meet me now, because I am not fasting now.” The girl, it is mentioned in the written complaint that she got embarrassed and disconnected her mobile phone after hearing this.
When the daily wage worker’s father could not bear the matter and went to the college with his daughter to fill the form the next day, the principal said in front of the college’s inspector Md. Maidul Islam Rabbani, “I told this girl something yesterday and she got scared.” Then the student informed the Bengali teacher of Mahishkhocha Bahumukhi High School and College and some classmates about the matter and returned home.
When he came to the District Administrator’s office to file a complaint, he said in tears, “We are hardworking daily wage workers, we have filed a complaint and we will see what the authorities do.”
The victim SSC examinee said, if proper action is not taken for such a good deed, I will take to the streets with my classmates.
Since this incident, the principal has been missing, he cannot be found at home or in the office. When the accused principal Rabiul Alam was called on his mobile number 01735181234 to get his comment on the matter, the phone was found switched off.
In this regard, Deputy Commissioner HM Rakib Haider said that the matter has been asked to be taken to the Lalmonirhat Police Superintendent through an official. Action will be taken after the investigation.
