A police constable was killed when his jeep fell into a ditch on the Malumghat Highway in Chakaria, Cox’s Bazar. His name is Nazmul Hasan (50). Three police constables, including an SI, were injured. The accident occurred at around 2:30 am on Thursday in the Ringbong Mazar Gate area of ​​Dulahazara in the upazila. The deceased constable Nazmul Hasan is the son of Master Shahidul Islam of Gurkonghat area of ​​Sadar upazila of Brahmanbaria district.
Malumghat Highway Police Station OC Mehedi Hasan said that at 2:30 am on Thursday, a group of policemen led by SI Zia Uddin were on duty in a jeep of Malumghat Highway Police Station in the Dulahazara Ringbong Mazar Gate area of ​​the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway. On the way back to the police station after finishing duty, the jeep lost control and fell into a ditch. At that time, Constable Nazmul Hasan died on the spot. At that time, three other constables including SI Zia Uddin were seriously injured.
The injured are Constable Nurul Alam (38), Constable Oli Ahmed, and Constable Saiful Islam (29). They have been rescued and admitted to Chakaria and Cox’s Bazar Government Hospitals. Nazmul’s body will be handed over to his family after the legal process is completed, said OC Mehedi Hasan.
