Gazi Md. Gias Uddin Bashir, Jhalakathi:Â A retired army member named Md. Majed Howlader (50) died after being bitten by a bee stinger in Kathalia, Jhalakathi. The incident took place on Wednesday, March 12 at noon in Kachua village, Ward No. 2 of Shauljalia Union, Kathalia Upazila. Relatives of the deceased said that Majed climbed a tree to collect honey from a beehive in the garden next to his house around 1 pm on Wednesday. At that time, Bhimrul’s house next to the beehive was shaken and he was injured when he was bitten by a bee stinger. In his injured condition, Majed was taken to the Upazila Health Complex by his family members and locals. But Majed died on the way before reaching the hospital. The deceased Md. Majed Howlader is the son of the deceased Md. Panu Howlader of Kachua village. He used to serve as a soldier in the army. He was currently retired and living at home. Rafiqul Islam, the deceased’s brother, confirmed this.
