If any brick kiln is to be closed, it must be closed by giving financial compensation from the government. The provision of taking DC’s certificate for cutting soil must be canceled. They demanded the necessary initiative to introduce the provision of mandatory submission of the Central Brick Manufacturers’ Owners Association’s certificate for the issuance/renewal of environmental clearance, DC license, fire service license, trade license and other documents and to declare the brick kiln as an industry.
The speakers warned that if a long-term comprehensive policy for the operation of the kiln is not formulated and its immediate implementation is not required, they will be forced to launch a strict movement.
The rally also protested against the closure of Zigzag brick kilns and strongly demanded the removal of the complications in obtaining clearance and licenses for Zigzag brick kilns as mentioned in the Brick Manufacturing and Kiln Establishment (Control) Act-2013 and the Brick Manufacturing and Kiln Establishment (Control) Act 2019.
After the protest rally, they submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mohammad Noor-e-Alam accepted the memorandum on behalf of the District Magistrate.
