Md. Nur Islam Noyan, Dinajpur Correspondent : A discussion meeting and award distribution ceremony was held at the District Shishu Academy Auditorium on Saturday, March 8, organized by the Dinajpur District Administration and District Women’s Affairs Department to celebrate International Women’s Day-2025.
The event was attended by Deputy Commissioner Md. Rafiqul Islam as the chief guest. District Superintendent of Police Md. Marufat Hussain as the special guest.
The event, chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) of Dinajpur, Mohammad Nur A Alam, was also attended by Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Mosammat Sadratul Muntahina, District Veterinary Officer Dr. Ashika Akbar Trisha, Vice Principal of Dinajpur Music Degree College Dr. Marufa Begum, Special PP Advocate of Dinajpur Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Nagma Parvin Zeba, among others. Deputy Director of the District Women’s Affairs Department Md. Morshed Ali Khan delivered the welcome speech.
At the beginning of the program, the day was inaugurated by releasing balloons and festoons. The theme of this year’s Women’s Day was Rights, Equality, Empowerment and Development of Women and Girls.
On the occasion of the day, a total of 9 people, including 6 people in Groups A and B in the essay competition on the role of education in women’s empowerment and the context of Bangladesh, and 3 people in the essay competition organized by the Women’s Handicrafts and Agriculture Training Center, were awarded by the chief guest, special guest and other guests.
In addition, Dinajpur Deputy Commissioner Md. Rafiqul Islam, the guests immediately gave away prizes to the respondents who participated in various quiz competitions.
