Tawhid Hossain sorkar:The Malek-Nurjahan Foundation was established with this eternal truth in mind: “People are for people, life is for life.” The main goal of this foundation is to stand by the underprivileged people of the society. In continuation of this, the foundation has distributed Iftar items to more than a hundred distressed and helpless people on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
A complete arrangement with a touch of compassion. The chief guest of this great initiative organized in Comilla was Kazi Golam Kibria, a three-time elected former councilor of Ward No. 1 of Comilla City Corporation. In addition, prominent businessman Md. Sarwar Alam Munshi, Malek-Nurjahan Foundation’s program officer and journalist Touhid Hossain Sarkar, Ward No. 1 Jamaat Ameer Aman Ullah, prominent businessman Md. Ripon Hossain and Professor Farid Ahmed Majumdar of Comilla Teachers Training College were present as special guests.
An attempt to bring smiles to the faces of the underprivileged
The month of Ramadan means the month of self-purification, restraint and charity. But even in this month, many people do not get enough food, they do not even have the minimum items for Iftar. Malek-Nurjahan Foundation has made an effort to bring a smile to the faces of those people. Smiles of relief appeared on the faces of the underprivileged after receiving the Iftar package consisting of oil, rice, pulses, chickpeas, dates, sugar and other daily necessities.
An inspiration for enterprising people
Many were inspired by this arrangement. The guests present also said that the wealthy of the society should join such initiatives and stand by the underprivileged. Professor Farid Ahmed Majumdar of Comilla Teachers Training College said, “Humanity is the best religion. If such initiatives can be increased further, then the poor people of the society will get some relief.”
You too come forward
If more organizations like Malek-Nurjahan Foundation come forward for this humanitarian work, then the suffering of people suffering from poverty in the society will be eased to some extent. We all should stand by them according to our ability, because working for humanity is the source of true happiness.
Ramadan is not only the month of restraint, it teaches us the true lesson of humanity. Let us all apply this lesson in our lives and work together to bring smiles to the faces of helpless people.
