In less than two months like the occupation of the char, there has been an allegation of embezzlement of lakhs of Taka deposited in the bank of Char Jabbar Degree College in Subarnachar upazila of Noakhali. Against Jamsedur Rahman, who was temporarily in charge of the (acting) principal of the college.
According to the information received, the service life of the former principal’s current vice-principal ended on 31/12/2024 as his service age reached 60 years as per the rules. On the day of handing over the responsibility, i.e. 31/12/2025, the former principal and the current vice-principal received a bank statement from the bank stating that about 15 lakh Taka was deposited in the general fund of the college at the Sonali Bank Subarnachar branch. In which it is seen that about 15 lakh Taka was deposited in the general fund of the college. But it is a matter of great regret that in order to facilitate the students living below the poverty line of this vast char region to pursue higher education, the late Aliuddin Ahmed, the all-time creative son of Subarnachar, took the initiative to establish the college as per the last wish of his late father while he was burdened with a debt of more than half a crore taka. In the pouring rain of Ashadh in 1993, with a polythene bag tied around his head, he had to establish the college as per the rules of the Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Comilla, and reached the distant Kabirhat Sub-Registry Office in the favor of the Deputy Commissioner of Noakhali and in the late afternoon, the Deputy Commissioner of Noakhali registered three acres of valuable land. He did not stop there either. At night, the newly departed principal (acting) Ghiyasuddin Farhad, with a body temperature above 100 degrees, along with the founding principal Md. Shahjahan, met at the office of Alhajj Syed Rahman Chowdhury, alias (Chowdhury uncle), the main source of funding for the college, until midnight and took urgent steps to build the college.
On the morning of Saturday, May 5, 2018, Aliuddin Ahmed, who was buried at that time in a private hospital in the district town, passed away.
Although there were plans to hold a funeral prayer on the college grounds throughout the day and bury him in eternal sleep on the south side of the grounds of Char Jabbar Degree College, which he founded, the last wish of the late Aliuddin Ahmed, who was hinted at by an invisible hand in the late afternoon, was not fulfilled. The great creator knows this matter well. When asked about the current status of the college’s education, Alhdhasad;j¦ Md. Chhayder Rahman Chowdhury, one of the most influential members of the college’s management board for more than 30 years since the college’s establishment, said, “They have come to occupy the farm.” How will they improve the quality of education in the college? The same question is also being asked by other education-minded people in this vast region? According to the unanimous decision of the regular management board of the college, there is a decision to deposit a minimum of five lakh taka in the general fund of the college, but currently the college authorities are not paying any attention to these rules and regulations. As a result, the amount of money deposited in the general fund is zero at any moment. According to the unanimous decision of another meeting of the regular management board of the college, all the students of the higher secondary-degree level of the college will deposit their monthly salary and various fees in the general fund of the college at the Sonali Bank Subarnachar branch. But due to an invisible force, it is now on the verge of closing. Despite thousands of obstacles, the college was in a satisfactory position in the Comilla Education Board’s results in the latest 2024 Higher Secondary Certificate Examination, but the residents of Subarnachar, who are always waiting to see what the results of the examination will be in 2025, are more grateful to you for your achievements than for your greatness.
