A group of robbers robbed a tourist of his iPhone and mobile phone at knife point on the Cox’s-to-day road in the tourist zone of Cox’s Bazar. The tourist police arrested five people in a raid on Monday (February 10) in this incident. The arrested are Mansur Alam (22) of Baharchhara Union in Teknaf, Md. Sohel (20) of Cox’s Bazar city, Nurul Alam (26) of Chakria, Deen Islam (20) and Idris (32) of Cox’s Bazar Municipality. Additional DIG of Cox’s Bazar Tourist Police, Apel Mahmud, said that the robbers held a group of tourists hostage at gunpoint. Then they snatched their money and mobile phones. On receiving the information, a team of tourist police quickly launched a raid. Five people were arrested in a separate raid. The iPhone and money stolen from them were recovered.
