A discussion meeting was held on the formation of a new committee of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh Bijoynagar Upazila branch.
The new committee was announced after a discussion on the formation of the committee held at the hall of Khadurail Nurul Quran Islamia Madrasa in the upazila at 11 am on Monday, February 10.
Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, Brahmanbaria District Branch Senior Vice President Mufti Borhan Haque Qasemi presided over the event, while Maulana Ali Azzam Qasemi, General Secretary of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh Brahmanbaria District Branch, was present as the chief guest.
Maulana Zahirul Islam, Vice President of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, Brahmanbaria District Branch, delivered the keynote address.
Maulana Zakaria, Joint Organizing Secretary of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, Brahmanbaria District Branch, and Hafez Mufti Junaid Qasemi, Youth Affairs Secretary of the Central Committee, were present as special guests.
Through the Quran recitation of Hafez Qari Mobashir Hossain and under the joint moderation of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh Bijoynagar Upazila leader Hafez Maulana Enamul Haque Bashari, Maulana Kabir Hossain and Mufti Rahmatullah Qasemi, Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh Bijoynagar Upazila leader Maulana Shah Salimullah Khadem, Mufti Saeed Al Mamun, Maulana Shafiqul Islam, Mufti Redwanul Bari Siraji, Maulana Afzal Hossain, Maulana Kazi Ziaur Rahman, Maulana Shahed Ali, Maulana Sarwar Hossain, among others, spoke.
After the discussion meeting, a 161-member executive committee was unanimously announced with Maulana Shafiqul Islam as the new president of Hefazat-e-Islam Bijoynagar Upazila branch, Maulana Afzal Hossain as the general secretary, and Hafez Maulana Mufti Enamul Haque Bashari (Sumon) as the organizing secretary. At this time, the names of the advisory council consisting of 31 members of senior scholars were announced.
