Comilla South District BNP Convening Committee approved

The committee approved a five-member partial committee with the names of Zakaria Taher Suman, the central BNP employment affairs secretary and former MP from Comilla 08 constituency, Syed Jahangir Alam as the convener, Md. Amiruzzaman Amir as the joint convener, Ashikur Rahman Mahmud Wasim as the member secretary, and Haji Aminur Rashid Yasin, the convener of Comilla Metropolitan BNP, as the member.

It is worth mentioning that Zakaria Taher Suman, as the employment affairs secretary of the party’s central committee for a long time, followed the party’s instructions honestly and faithfully, followed the party discipline, faced all adverse situations, and kept the party’s leaders and activists in the area and kept them informed in various situations. In addition, he continued to provide overall support to the helpless people of the society by providing financial assistance and food items. He supported the student movement against discrimination during the previous government. And after August 5, when the Prime Minister of the Awami League government, Sheikh Hasina, fled the country and fled to India, he kept the situation calm by instructing the party leaders and activists to keep the situation calm in his area (Barura) and to ensure that no innocent people were harmed. His father, the late AKM Abu Taher, was elected as a member of parliament for the third time in 1991, 1996 (February 15) and 2001 and died on September 23, 2004. After his death, he was elected as a member of the National Parliament for the first time in the next National Parliament by-election in 2004 on his father’s seat with a huge vote, fulfilling his father’s dream and working in the service of the people of Barura to build a modern Barura. When the news of his election as the convener of Comilla South District BNP spread through social media, there was a festive atmosphere among the leaders and activists of Barura Upazila as well as other upazilas of Comilla district.
