The Ministry of Youth and Sports has organized a Kabaddi and Volleyball competition for boys and badminton (doubles) and chess (singles) competition for boys and girls at the school level in Comilla.
The final match of the boys and girls phase was held at the Bhasha Sainik Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Comilla on Saturday (January 25) afternoon.
In the boys’ group Kabaddi game, Comilla Zilla School emerged as the champion with 41 points and Comilla Collector School and College emerged as the runner-up with 39 points. Meanwhile, Shimpur High School defeated Comilla Yusuf High School to become the champion in the volleyball game.
On the other hand, in the badminton boys’ (doubles) game, the pair of Kaif and Sajjat ​​of Comilla Zilla School defeated the pair of Siam Sikdar and Shanto Islam of Hochhamia High School to become the champion, and in the badminton girls’ (doubles) game, the pair of Marjana and Adiba of Nawab Faizunechcha School defeated the pair of Nishat and Amena of Shailrani School to become the champion.
Also, in the chess (singles) game, Fahad bin Abu Ahsan of Mainamati School and College defeated Kazi Fatin Noor of Comilla Collector School and College to become the champion. On the other hand, in the girls’ game, Fatin Nawar Athai of Nawab Faizunechcha School defeated Junaynah Iqbal of Nawab Faizunechcha School to become the champion.
After the final game, the President of the Comilla District Sports Association and the District Administration Md. Amirul Kaysar was present as the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony. The special guest was Pankaj Barua, convener of the competition committee and Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) of Comilla. Sumon Kumar Mitra, member secretary of Comilla District Sports Association and District Sports Officer, former joint convener of Comilla South District BNP and former VP of Comilla Victoria College, Ashiqur Rahman Mahmud Wasim, former joint secretary of Comilla District Sports Association, Mahbubul Alam Chapal, member of the convening committee of the District Sports Association, Ahsanullah Swapan, organizing secretary of Comilla Press Club and editor of Daily Ajker Comilla, Imtiaz Ahmed Jitu, treasurer of the District Football Association, Saiful Alam Babu, former cricket player Fakhrul Alam Sagar, district football coach Tuhin, etc. were present as the president.
