Arnab was shot dead by miscreants in the Tentultala intersection area of ​​Khulna city at around 9:30 pm on Friday. Eyewitnesses said that Arnab was drinking tea while leaning on a motorcycle in front of a tea shop at Tentultala intersection at night. At that time, miscreants on several motorcycles came and shot him and fled. One of the bullets pierced Arnab’s head. Local people rescued him and took him to the private City Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Arnab’s village home is in Rajnagar village of Rampal upazila of Bagerhat. His father Nitish Chandra Sarkar is a contractor. Arnab’s body reached the house this afternoon. After the autopsy at Khulna Medical College Hospital around 12 noon, the body was handed over to the family members. The body was taken home and kept for an hour before being taken to the crematorium for burial.

Sonadanga Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Shafiqul Islam told Prothom Alo that Arnab’s body had several bullet marks. Three pistol bullets and a shotgun bullet were recovered from the scene. The OC said that the investigation is being carried out keeping several factors in mind. Arnab’s father was a contractor. Arnab used to look after that business along with his studies. It is being investigated whether there was any conflict between any parties regarding this.
