A pitha festival was held at Jhalom High School College in Barura, Comilla, on the occasion of the Youth Festival 2025.
Barura Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Nu Among Marma Mong declared the auspicious inauguration of Pitha Utsav 2025 at Jhalom High School and College auditorium on Thursday, January 23 at 10 am.
The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Jhalom High School and College Principal Mohammad Emdadul Haque Palash. Present at the event were guardian representatives Md. Idris Mia, Md. Abul Khair, Atiqur Rahman, Md. Zahirul Islam, educationist Md. Imran Hossain, assistant professors Md. Lal Mia, Abul Bashar, Sarker Shiuli Akhter, Md. Zahirul Islam, Mohammad Masud Majumder, Mohammad Shafiullah, Mohammad Shahjalal, Dilip Chakraborty, Madhavi Sutradhar, Nasrin Sultana, Abdus Sattar, Abdus Samad, Omar Hanif, Abdul Motaleb, Md. Mahbub Alam, assistant headmaster Forkan Hossain Majumder, assistant teachers Rakhal Chandra Debnath, Zinat Rehana, Ferdousi Begum, Abdus Salam, Master Md. Nurul Haque, Kamal Hossain, and others.
Finally, the chief guest, Barura Upazila Executive Officer Nu Among Marma Mong, officially cut the cake and declared the auspicious opening of the Pitha Utsav 2025.
Eleven stalls participated in the festival by decorating traditional pithas of rural Bengal. The participating stalls are Pithapulir Hat, Pithalaya, Rasui Ghar, Pitha Melar Jhuri, Nakshi Pitha, Falguni, Rokmari Pitha, Srijan, Pitha Corner, Chandrapuli Team and Pitha Ghar.
