Overall, there is an enthusiasm and vigor among the leaders and activists. At the root of this is the former VP of Bhandaria Government College of Pirojpur-2 (Bhandaria, Kaukhali, Nesarabad) constituency, Md. Mahmud Hossain. Under his leadership, a large part of the grassroots of Pirojpur-2 (Bhandaria, Kaukhali, Nesarabad) BNP is always in the field. Mahmud Hossain is a BNP nomination aspirant for Pirojpur-2 constituency.
After the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government on August 5, leaders and activists formed an alliance under the leadership of Bhandaria’s son, Md. Mahmud Hossain.
The neglected leaders and workers of the party are dreaming of a new dream under the strong leadership of Mahmud Hossain. They claim that the seat is known as a vote bank for BNP. Due to various internal problems including leadership conflicts, the seat is repeatedly going to the hands of Awami League. If Mahmud Hossain gets the nomination from the party in the next parliamentary election, this seat will go to the hands of BNP.
The leaders and activists said that there has been a new hope among the BNP leaders and activists who were inactive due to attacks and cases in the past. People from different classes and professions at the village level are participating in the organizational programs. Under the strong leadership of Mahmud Hossain, the political field is bustling with various processions, meetings and organizational programs. He is always keeping an eye on the grassroots leaders and activists. If there is a dispute or disagreement among anyone in the party, he is easily able to bring everyone under one flag.
Meanwhile, potential candidates are joining the campaign in the constituency with the interim government’s state reforms and the upcoming elections in mind. After a long time, on November 7, the National Revolution and Solidarity Day was celebrated in all the upazilas of the constituency with colorful arrangements. On that day, followers of Mahmud Hossain took out colorful processions and rallies in the city in Bhandaria of the constituency. Separate processions were also taken out in Kaukhali and Nesarabad of the constituency. Mahmud Hossain gave a new message to the party workers through the commitment to restore democracy and build a country under the leadership of Tarique Rahman.
In this regard, Mahmud Hossain said, “A new Bangladesh has begun through the anti-discrimination student movement. We want to restore the country’s democracy under the leadership of Tarique Rahman. BNP leaders and activists must remember that no work can be done that brings disrepute to the party. We must always be vocal. There will be no place for fascist allies in this country. We have got new leadership. To consolidate the party, new leadership will be formed at the upazila and municipality levels. We all have to remain united to strengthen the hand of Tarique Rahman, the hero of the future country.”
