Chittagong Kings started the 11th season of BPL by losing to Khulna Tigers in the first match. However, the team made a great comeback and won the tournament with a hat-trick win. Mithun-Shariful defeated Sylhet by runs in the fourth match. In this, Chittagong Kings occupied the second place, leaving Barisal behind in the 6-point table.
Although Barisal has 6 points after playing 5 matches, they are ahead in run rate.
Chittagong Kings defeated Sylhet Strikers by 30 runs at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium today, Monday.
After losing the toss and opting to bat, Usman Khan and Graeme Clarke started the match with a stormy start, but Haider Ali’s innings in the end led Chittagong Kings to score 203 runs. Chasing a big run, Sylhet Strikers’ innings was stopped at 173 runs.
Sylhet lost the wicket of Rony Talukdar with the second ball of the innings while playing on target. Paul Stirling returned without scoring a run off Nabil Samad. Zakir, who played well in the previous two matches, got off to a good start today. However, he settled down and returned to be the victim of Alice today.
Aaron Jones also failed.
However, George Mansi tried to settle down at the crease. Zaker Ali Anik also gave a glimpse of the storm by joining him. The pair of these two added 62 runs. Mansi was out for 52 with four fours and sixes in 37 balls.
