UNO distributes blankets in remote char of Goalando Kushahata

Kushahata is a remote char in Daulatdia Union of Goalanda Upazila of Rajbari. Kushahata is an isolated island surrounded by the Padma River on all sides. To reach here, one has to cross the river. After crossing the river, the means of transport is a horse-drawn carriage. Some officials of the upazila administration appeared with blankets among the helpless people there.

On Saturday (January 11), Goalanda Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Asaduzzaman, Nazir Abul Kalam Azad and some other entourage accompanied by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Nahidur Rahman.

During this time, he visited the area and spoke to the people of this area. He listened to their sorrows and hardships. He assured them that the Upazila administration would provide assistance and services to their doorsteps. The residents present were very happy with the arrival of the Upazila administration officials.

On behalf of the upazila administration, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer personally distributed blankets to 170 families. He personally handed over the blankets to the needy in the queue. After the distribution, the Upazila Executive Officer said, “It is a joy to be able to hand over the winter clothes to the right people. The Upazila administration will make every effort to overcome the inaccessibility and deliver all the government services to every home.”
