Joypurhat Correspondent: Anti-discrimination students have held a protest march and blocked roads in Panchbibi, Joypurhat, demanding the arrest of banned Chhatra League leaders and activists for writing the slogan “Joy Bangla” on graffiti painted as a memorial to the July Revolution.

Local sources said that in the dark of night, graffiti was painted on the walls of various educational institutions in Panchbibi Upazila, with fake writings on the pictures of Joy Bangla and Shaheed Abu Sayeed. In protest of this incident, leaders of the anti-discrimination student movement and students held a protest march at 11 am demanding the arrest of the leaders and activists of the banned Chhatra League.
After the procession, they blocked the road in the Panchmatha area of ​​Panchbibi on the Joypurhat-Hili road.
When the police arrived at the scene to block the road, the students and student leaders got into an argument with the officer-in-charge (OC) of Panchbibi Police Station, Kawsar Ali. At one point, they lifted the road blockade after the Chhatra League leaders and activists were assured of the speedy arrest.
College student Tanmoy, coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement Azizur Rahman, Tahsin Kabir of the women’s college, students Srabanti, Tasmin, Momo, Al Ashiq, Sunny, Al Mamun, Mursalin, Jassi and Jashed, among others, spoke at the event.
The officer-in-charge of Panchbibi Police Station said that the leaders and activists of the banned Chhatra League will be arrested soon.
