Convenor of the National Citizens’ Committee Nasiruddin Patwari said, Bangladesh became independent again on 24th. We don’t want to see a knee-jerk foreign policy again. We will not continue to be blinded by any state towards the country. We don’t want to see a Bangladesh of tender-making.
He said these things at the ‘Fear for Unity’ rally called by the anti-discrimination student movement at the Central Shaheed Minar on Tuesday (December 31) at 4:30 pm.
He said, today we have arrived at a historic juncture. We wanted to record the freedom we got in exchange for the blood of the injured and the dead in a declaration. The government took that decision after discussing with all the political parties in the country. If the words of those who were mutilated and killed are not mentioned in the declaration, the public will not accept that declaration.
He said, the parents of countless martyrs have arrived here. Their children have been killed. I want to warn the government, if you cannot be active for justice, then the students of the country will take justice into their own hands.
He said, Awami League will have to go through the process of banning through trial. I will not leave the field until the murderer Hasina is tried on the soil of Bangladesh. You will win. The fight has started, the fight will continue.
He said, our comrades were attacked in Gopalganj. They have been treated in the hospital and have come to the rally. I greet everyone for coming here.
