On December 27, the monthly meeting of the Louhajang Upazila Law and Order Committee of the district discussed the safety of tourists coming to Shimulia Ghat on 31st night. It was decided to close all restaurants at Shimulia Ghat after 12 midnight on that 31st night.
The matter was confirmed by Louhajang Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Zakir Hossain. He said that such a decision has been taken to avoid unexpected incidents. Restaurant businessmen at Shimulia Ghat have been ordered to keep their hotels closed.
