Moulvibazar Correspondent: An hour-long human chain program was organized by the “Bobarthal Land Rights Implementation Committee” in the hill town of Barelekha on the afternoon of December 21, demanding the completion of the survey process officially in the area of ​​’Bobarthal’ in the local Majhgandhai Bazar. The hour-long human chain program was organized under the chairmanship of Niazur Rahman, President of Bobarthal Land Rights Implementation Committee Barelekha, Moulvibazar, and moderated by General Secretary Abdur Rahman. The speakers of the hour-long human chain program were – Abdur Razzak, Vice-President of Bobarthal Land Rights Implementation Committee Barelekha, Moulvibazar, Area Elders Abdul Qaddus, Mahtab Uddin, Abdus Shukur, Abdul Hashim, etc. The speakers said – About 18 thousand local residents of 986 families from 11 villages have been living in the Bobarthal area for a long time, 60-65 years. The tea garden authorities have been harassing the innocent and peace-loving people of the area by filing multiple cases with the aim of illegally and illegally acquiring the land of the “Bobarthal” Khas Khatian. For a long time, they have been occupying and maintaining the rule of the area by building houses in the area for about 60 years. There are polling stations, 1 BGP center, MPO-affiliated secondary school, government primary school, Dakhil Madrasa, 5 hat bazaars, 2 Christian missionary primary schools, 10 Jama Masjids, 4 Khasia churches. During the 1971 freedom struggle, Bobarthal was a refuge center for freedom fighters as a border area. The speakers also said – there is the right to vote, but no right to land. They strongly demanded from the current government to complete the survey process officially and get the right to land. They demanded the withdrawal of the false cases filed against innocent people. A protest procession was taken out after the human chain program. About a hundred people from the Bobarthal area participated in the human chain.
