However, the good news for the marginal farmers is that if BR-75, BR-86 Aman rice can be cultivated, they can bring home a better yield of approximately 4 to 5 tonnes of rice per hectare in a short period of time and the farmers can also benefit from potato cultivation at the right time. He advised.
Besides, according to the order of Patuakhali District Commissioner, paddy cannot be bought and sold as 48/50 kg above 40 kg anywhere in the district. He also warned that if any wholesale moneylender buys paddy above the specified 40 kg, he will be prosecuted under the existing law.
