Chapainawabganj Correspondent:
The owners of the affected land have held a press conference to protest the registration of 300 bighas of land belonging to more than a hundred farmer families in Chapainawabganj in the name of land grabbers.
They raised these allegations at an office in front of Shahneyamatullah College at Bishwa Road intersection in Chapainawabganj district town on Tuesday (November 25) morning.
At the press conference, Imaz Uddin said that the land survey started in 2008 in Debinagar Mouza No.167 of Debinagar Union of Sadar Upazila. It ended in 2015.  Later, from 2016 to 2022, in collusion with Akbar Hossain, the record keeper in charge of the Rajshahi Settlement Diyara Operation Rajshahi office, and Alamgir Hossain, the seat keeper, corruptly acquired about 300 bighas of land in exchange for money, in collusion with land grabbers Osman Gani, Rezaul Karim, and Akhtaruzzaman of Debinagar Union, and recorded the land in their accounts anonymously in the names of the land grabbers. Their names were also illegally included in some accounts.
He said that despite applying for redress to the Dhaka Settlement Office and Rajshahi Settlement Office Charge Officers, Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner, Chapai Nawabganj Deputy Commissioner, and Rajshahi Anti-Corruption Commission to get the land back, no desired remedy was found, he said.
