Tofazzal Hossain is a restaurant worker in Rajganj area of ​​Comilla city. Due to lack of money, he did not have the opportunity to study. He started working in a restaurant at the age of 13.
He did not deprive children of education even in low income to remove the pain of not being able to study. Among the four children, the eldest Shahnaz Akhtar was recommended as a cadre in the 43rd BCS examination. Will join the post of Assistant Accountant General under the Ministry of Finance.
Earlier Shahnaz taught in a government college after being recommended as non-cadre in 40th BCS. However, starting from restaurant colleagues, acquaintances call Tofazzal Hossain as the father of Double BCS. This father is overjoyed at his child’s success. Among the three children, Shahnaz is Maz. The elder son lives abroad. The other two sons are also studying. Tofazzal Hossain’s house is in Pilgiri village of Barura upazila of Comilla.
Tofazzal Hossain said, ‘I could not study. I can’t even write my name. So there was a great desire to educate the children. I pay for my children’s education by doing small jobs in restaurants. My wife Ayesha Begum has also worked hard for her children’s education. The restaurant owner was very helpful. I have been working here for 45 years. Children are now established. They asked me to quit my job. But I fell under the spell of the restaurant owner, colleagues and customers. As long as my body is good, I want to continue doing this.’
Shahnaz Akhter said, ‘Family, child management, mathematics from Comilla Victoria Government College with honors. Had no idea about BCS before HSC. While doing the coaching for primary teacher recruitment exam, I came to know that it is BCS coaching center. Then I started moving forward with the goal of BCS in mind.
Shahnaz Akhtar also said, ‘Dad is a small restaurant worker. He works for a low salary. Parents are struggling a lot to educate us. I respect my father’s profession. To me father is the best father in the world.
My parents’ strong will, hard work, sacrifice and my confidence have brought me this far. I want to fulfill the expectations of my parents and work for the country.
Nurullah, a businessman who came to eat at the restaurant, said, ‘I met Tofazzal Hossain because of coming and going here. He is well known to us. A very humble man. Even as a hotel worker, he educated all his sons and daughters. A girl cleared the double BCS exam. In fact, many things are possible if there is will power; An example of which is Tofazzal Hossain and his daughter Shahnaz Akhtar.
