Sonaimuri (Noakhali) Representative: The Sonaimuri police have rescued the victim Abdul Jabbar (30), who was kidnapped in Sonaimuri on demand of ransom, and arrested 2 kidnappers named Rakib Hossain (24) and Faisal Ahmed (20). During this time, the stolen SinNG was recovered from the custody of the kidnapper gang. The police arrested them on the night of Tuesday, November 19, 2024 and handed them over to the court.
According to Sonaimuri Police Station and case sources, on Monday night, November 18, 2024, the victim Abdul Jabbar of Surhali Habib Master Bari of local 09 Dewati UP was returning home after crossing the Chatkhil area with his CNG auto taxi and reached the local Banglabazar area in the early hours of the morning. When Mustafa’s son Md. Rakib (24) of Kalu Chowkidar Bari of Panchbaria village of Nadna UP No. 02 and Md. Faisal (30) son of Ripon Mia of Noabari of the same village abducted the victim Abdul Jabbar along with the CNG auto taxi he was driving and took him to an unknown place. Later, the abductors demanded a ransom of 50 thousand taka from the family members of the kidnapped Abdul Jabbar through various means. The abductors threatened to kill the victim Abdul Jabbar if the demanded ransom money was not paid. In this regard, the victim Abdul Jabbar’s wife Khodeja Begum filed a complaint with the police station.
Upon receiving the complaint from the plaintiff, the officer-in-charge of Sonaimuri police station, Mohammad Morshed Alam, immediately discussed with the Superintendent of Police, Noykhali, Md. Abdullah Al Faruk, and the Assistant Superintendent of Police, Chatkhil Circle, Nityananda Das, and took directions and started an operation led by the officer-in-charge, Mohammad Morshed Alam, along with SI Md. Ramzan Ali to recover the victim and the stolen CNG. During the operation, based on secret information, on the night of Tuesday, November 19, ’24, the victim and the stolen CNG were recovered from the area in Panchbaria, Nadna UP, and the kidnappers, Rakib and Faisal, were arrested.
In this regard, Sonaimuri Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Morshed Alam said, after receiving a written complaint from Khodeja Begum, wife of abducted Abdul Jabbar, Sonaimuri Police Station has registered a case No. 04(11)2024 under Section-365/385 of the Penal Code. The victim was found unharmed and the stolen CNG was recovered. Rakib and Faisal of Panchbaria village involved in the incident have been arrested and sent to jail through the court.
