Allegations of encroachment of mosque land received in Amtali

It has been alleged that the land of Baitul Aman Jame Masjid of Haji Kalu Biswas Bari of Paschimchila village of Amtali, Barguna is in the possession of influential people.

According to the complaint given to the Amtali Upazila Executive Officer, Alhaj Hamed Ghazi Biswas of Paschimchila village of the upazila registered an assignment deed in the name of the mosque on the date of 16/5/1995 AD in Amtali Sub-Registry Office Document No. 1695. Which under Amtali Thana JL No. 56 West Chila Maujar Sakhtian No. 102 Dag No. 164/195/204/205/206/207/208/209/210/211/216/217/218 land amount is 16.50 (sixteen and a half percent). Zahirul Islam Biswas, Aminul Biswas, Mohibullah Biswas, sons of deceased Motahar Biswas of the same area are forcibly occupying the said land.
When the owners tried to develop the mosque by selling the trees planted on the said land, the occupiers obstructed them in various ways, but the Muslims, including the president of the mosque, Awal Biswas, also showed fear.
The president of the mosque committee asked for redress in this incident. Awal Biswas filed a written complaint with Amtali Upazila Nirbahi Officer on November 12.
The accused Zahirul Islam Biswas, Aminul Biswas, Mohibullah Biswas denied the charges against them.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer admitted receiving the complaint. Ashraful Alam said the local dignitary Maqbool Ahmed Khan has been given the responsibility to resolve the matter.
The worshipers of the mosque are demanding the immediate intervention of the administration to recover the land of the mosque from the hands of the encroachers.
