Comilla’s Barura Upazila Health Complex is an initiative of Roome Upazila Health Complex to organize a camping with the aim of creating public awareness on the use of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccination against cervical cancer.

Barura Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Nu Emong Marma Mong spoke as the chief guest at the event under the chairmanship of Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Mohibus Chalam Khan on October 21 at 11 am.

Upazila Health Complex’s MODC Dr. Noore Taskin Tuli presented the keynote speech at the event.

Upazila Family Planning Officer Md. Yachin Mia, Upazila Animal Resources Officer Dr. Nasrin Sultana Tanu, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Ratan Kumar Saha, Upazila Education Officer Md. Tariqul Islam, General Secretary of Barura Press Club Md. Ilyach Ahmad and others spoke. Barura Press Club President Md. Abul Hashem, Journalist Mohammad Masud Majumdar, Journalist Md. Ikramul Haque, Journalist MD Azizur Rahman, EPI Officer Md. Harunur Rashid were present.

Teachers of different high schools and primary schools of Barura Upazila and khatibs of different mosques were present in this camping event.

This vaccination program will continue from October 24 to November 24. All female students from 5th to 9th standard in the educational institution will be vaccinated. Means girls aged 10 to 14 will be covered under this vaccine. They must be registered before vaccination.

Vaccination will be done by going to the institution first. Then camp and go to the specified place and say that vaccination will be given.
