Ms. Farida Akhtar, Adviser, Ministry of Fisheries and Animal Resources, said that the real fishers in the water bodies have been deprived of their rightful rights for the Bishesh Syndicate. All the water bodies including the Haor Bill river are being made responsible for real fish life. He also said that middlemen are a big problem in rising prices of products including eggs. The big egg production companies of the country can supply only 20 percent of the demand. Marginal farmers have to supply the remaining 80 percent. There will be no middleman between the producer and consumer of chicken eggs. A number of companies are trying to take over egg, chicken, baby producers in different ways. Keeping an eye on small traders to be able to do business independently. Can’t go under any company. Middlemen are a major problem between egg producers and consumers. Efforts are being made to keep the price of eggs at a reasonable level. Insurers are being flexible on electricity bills. Efforts are underway to bring the electricity bill for egg and fish production in the agriculture bill.
He said these things in an exchange meeting with marginal level farmers of fish and animal resources of Pabna district at Pabna district administration conference room on Saturday afternoon.
