A patient named Ruma Akhter (28) died after tonsil operation in Joypurhat. On Friday (October 18) night, the housewife’s death occurred at the East Bazar Bandhan Clinic and Diagnostic Center. The relatives of the deceased’s family claimed that the housewife named Ruma Akhtar died due to wrong treatment by the doctor. The deceased housewife Ruma Akhter is the wife of Shamim Hossain of Nurpur Mridhapara village of Joypurhat Sadar Upazila.
Relatives of the deceased’s husband said that the housewife Ruma Akhtar was admitted to Bandhan Clinic and Diagnostic Center on Friday night for tonsil operation. Later he was taken to Sekankar operation theater for tonsil operation. The housewife died after a tonsil operation under the supervision of Dr. Asafuddaula and Dr. Tanveer. After the death of Ruma Akhter, everyone in the hospital including doctors, nurses fled away leaving her body.
Joypurhat Sadar Police Inspector (OC Investigation) Mizanur Rahman said that a housewife named Ruma Akhter died after a tonsil operation. After receiving the information, the police went to the spot. The body has been sent to Jaipurhat 250-bed General Hospital morgue for post-mortem. The actual cause of death will be known only after the investigation. Apart from this, the process of the case is going on in this incident, the police inspector also said that legal action will be taken subject to the investigation.
