A farmer named Kamal Bepari (45) has been accused of hacking to death in Shariatpur’s Nariya. The incident took place in Kazikandi area of ​​Rajnagar Union of the upazila on Friday (October 18) afternoon.
Kamal Bepari is the son of deceased Hossain Bepari of Kazikandi area. He was a farmer. He has two daughters and one son.
According to police and local sources, there has been a long-standing conflict with Ali Hossain Sardar of Kazikandi area of ​​Naria upazila over the dominance of Kamal Bepari of the same area. Kamal Bepari’s wife Masuda Begum and Shirin Begum, wife of opponent Ali Hossain’s cousin Ayanal Sardar, had an argument on Friday morning over a local Sanko. Ali Hossain, Aynal Sardars got angry about this. Later in the afternoon while returning home from the local Andharmanik market, Ali Hossain, Aynal Sardar along with 10/12 people took Kamal Bepari inside the house of Idris Sardar in Kazikandi area and left him injured in different parts of his body with local weapons including chapati and hammer. Later, the locals rescued him and took him to Dewan Medical, a private hospital in the area, and the doctor on duty sent him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Kamal Bepari died later in the afternoon at Dhaka Medical.
Sultan Bepari (52), the elder brother of deceased Kamal Bepari, said, “We had a conflict with Ali Hossain and the Aynals over the supremacy. Today they brutally hacked my brother to death over a trivial incident. I demand justice for my brother’s killers.
Rang Mala Begum (75), the elderly mother of the deceased Kamal Bepari, said, “I don’t listen to it.” I see people running. Later I went and saw my son lying on the ground in a bloody state. I screamed after seeing my son thrown into the water. So the boy was not thrown into the water. Looking at the injury all over the body. Later my son died in hospital. I will not get my son?
However, when the accused Ali Hossain Sardar and Aynal Sardar were contacted, they could not be found.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Naria Police Station Aslam Uddin Molla said, a farmer was hacked and injured in Kazikandi area. He later died in Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The body is in Dhaka Medical. Police have been sent to the area. No one has complained yet. Legal action will be taken if complaints are received.
