Engineer Rajas Khan misbehaved with the journalists without giving the information when they asked the engineer at the road and public road office of Rajbari. At one stage he asked the journalists to show the certificate. He also tore up the courtesy newspaper called Jatiya Dainik Bangladeshi Alo given to him and threw it on the floor outside. And wrapped it in the newspaper.

Journalist Kabir Hossain, president of the Rajbari branch of the Bangladesh Mafswal Journalist Forum, Rajbari representative of Bangladesh Bulletin and editor of the Rajbari Journal, feels that the incident is a threat to independent journalism.

He said that he misbehaved with the journalists by not giving information to engineer Rajs Khan when he went to his office on Wednesday (October 16) afternoon to ask for information about the development work. At that time, Russell Mia, representative of Bangladesh Alo newspaper, Bablu Sheikh, representative of Dainik Desh Bangla newspaper, Rajbari correspondent of Bangladesh Bulletin and Kabir Hossain, staff reporter of Daily Present Times, went to the office of Roads and Public Roads (Road Department).

Kabir Hossain said, the engineer was called 2-3 times the previous day, the next day the government number was called several times, but he did not receive the call.
After going to the Roads and Public Roads (Road Department) office, Engineer Rajas Khan kept the journalists sitting for a long time and did official activities. Later, when asked about the developmental activities after asking for permission to speak, Engineer Rajas Khan did not agree to give any information, rather he wanted to see the certificates of the journalists. He humiliated the journalists by saying what year he passed and where he studied.

Rajbari Deputy Commissioner (acting) Siddharth Bhowmik has been informed about this, said journalist Kabir. He advised to apply for information under the Information Act.

It should be noted that engineer Rajas Khan joined Rajbari on May 8. He was in the post of SD in the Dhaka office of roads and highways. Rajas Khan joined the Rajbari after being promoted.

Journalist Kabir Hossain said that it is known that there are various irregularities in the Rajbari Roads and Public Roads Department, which will be sought under the Right to Information Act.
