Labor and Employment Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan said – We want to introduce pension facility for garment workers. He said that there is a system to ensure pension benefits and social security in various sectors, but no such system has been developed in the garment sector. He said this while inaugurating the TCB product sale program for garment workers at Jaber & Zubair Fabrics Limited in Pagar area under Tongi Thana of Gazipur on Wednesday afternoon. Advisor Asif Mahmud said, “My dream is to introduce a pension scheme for garment workers.” Although it is time consuming I would like to start this project and give it a go. Any subsequent government may actually implement it.

He also said that after accepting the 18 points of the garment workers, the government has started distribution of TCB products at a fair price today. Distribution of 5 kg rice, 2 kg dal and 2 liters of soybean oil to garment workers at Tk 470 has been started. So that the workers do not have to live a miserable life, so that the production in the garment sector is not disrupted, the government has always been and will always be trying.

He said, immediately after assuming responsibility, we faced labor dissatisfaction. Outsiders are also behind the labor unrest. Regarding this, we have repeatedly sat down with all the labor leaders including the owners and formulated 18 points on the last 24th. We are hopeful that all the problems in this sector will be solved soon.
