Major General Md Mainur Rahman, GOC of 24 Infantry Division (Chittagong Cantonment), born in Pirojpur district, has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General on October 14. He has been promoted to Lt. General as GOC of Army Training and Doctrine Command (ArtDoc). On his promotion, sincere congratulations and best wishes have been given by the local people.
ArtDoc’s new GOC Mainur Rahman served as GOC of 33 Infantry Division in Comilla before Chittagong. In 1991, this officer got commissioned in the army through the 24th BMA Long Course and was promoted as Major General in 2022.

He served as the Contingent Commander of an Infantry Battalion in DR Congo in 2010-11 in the United Nations Mission. From 2013 to 2017, he served as Deputy Military Secretary to His Excellency the President.
Major General Md Mainur Rahman received a Master’s degree from Carlisle, Pennsylvania, USA in 2019 and was recognized for his outstanding achievements.

Major General Md Mainur Rahman, the youngest son of late Hasina Akhtar and retired police officer (DSP) late Lutfar Rahman of ‘Hasina Manzil’ of Shaheed Fazlul Haque Road (Paderhat Road) of Pirojpur District City, is privately married and father of two children.
