In the light of the motto “Clean hands are always important in health protection”, the upazila administration and public health engineering department jointly organized a colorful rally on Tuesday, October 15 at ten in the morning at the upazila complex, washing hands of students, various rules and proper do’s and discussion meeting was held. Upazila Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Md. Nasim Reza presided over the meeting. Upazila Assistant Public Health Engineer Md. Abdur Rahman delivered the welcome speech. Special guests were Upazila Agriculture Officer Arju Akhtar, Senior Fisheries Officer Md Zahirunnabi, Project Implementation Officer Khokon Chandra Das, Upazila Rural Development Officer Md Mahbub Hasan Shibli, Galachipa Sadar UP Chairman Md Jahangir Hossain Tutu, Golkhali, UP Chairman Md Nasir Uddin and Brak district. Manager Md Jahangir Hossain. Press Club President M. Khalid Hossain Milton gave a speech on World Hand Washing Day in the meeting. The president said in the meeting that if such hand washing program can be done among the backward communities including various educational institutions, slum areas than the conscious people, the society and public will benefit more.
Note that World Handwashing Day is a campaign day to create and inspire public awareness worldwide. It is celebrated worldwide on 15 October every year. The day is celebrated to create awareness among the public about preventing the spread of disease by washing hands with soap.
