The bi-annual council of Volunteers Association of Barura (BHAB), the mother organization of 21 social organizations of Barura, was held.
On Saturday, October 12, at 10 am in Shaher Banu Ideal School and College auditorium, presidents and general secretaries of 21 organizations elected the new president and general secretary of Bhava through secret voting.
Md. Abdul Haque, the former president of JBCCI, who was awarded the “Order of the Rising Sun” by the Japanese government, and the advisor of Bhava, was present as the chief guest in the council session. Former Joint Secretary, Ministry of Roads and Bridges, and President of Barura Upazila Jan Kalyan Samiti, Dhaka, Monindra Kishore Majumdar were present as the chief negotiators.
Noakhali Abdul Malek Ukil Medical College Associate Professor Dr Md Iqbal Hossain, Comillastha Barura Jan Kalyan Samity President Principal Safiqul Amin Patwari, Jhelum High School and College Assistant Professor Journalist Mohammad Masud Majumder, Friends Forum Qasami General Secretary Md Aman Ullah were present as special guests. .
Titas Upazila Secondary Education Officer Md. Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan, former president of BHAB, was elected as the president after receiving the highest number of votes through secret ballot in the council session, and prominent industrialist and social worker Riazul Islam Chowdhury Sohag, the former general secretary of BHAB, was elected as the general secretary.
Acting President of Volunteers Association of Barura (BHAB) journalist Omar Farooq presided over the election, General Secretary of Friends Forum Aman Ullah Aman, Founder of Barura Blood Bank and former Vice President of BHAB Parvez Hossain Gazi, President of Nari Adhikar Forum and BHAB Former Office Secretary Shakila Zaman.
