Md. Nur Islam Noyon :

Maulana Abdul Halim, Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Director of Rangpur-Dinajpur region, said that the fascist Awami League government has killed democracy with the help of the hegemons. On 28 October 2006, Bangladesh lost its way by starting the path of killing democracy by carrying out a rampage of logging on the streets of Dhaka. Then, in the last 17 years, including the top 11 leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami, thousands of Jamaat-camps across the country, BNP leaders-activists, clerics-ulama, journalists, intellectuals, have killed, disappeared and murdered numerous people of the country and harassed them with jail-oppression, attacks and lawsuits. The country was freed from fascism on August 5 in the united mass movement of liberation students against their misrule. Sheikh Hasina, the symbol of dictatorship and fascism, fled.

He also said that at present Jamaat-e-Islami’s leaders and workers have to play an effective role in building a discrimination-free country and nation in addition to managing the organization. With the goal of building a new Bangladesh based on honesty, merit and justice, united efforts should be continued with the people. We want to move forward with the countrymen with the determination to build a new Bangladesh
