Uzzal Ahmed, Reporter: A memorandum and human chain were held to demand the demands of primary teachers in Rajbari.
On Wednesday (October 2) around 4.30 in the afternoon, primary teachers formed a human chain in front of Pangsha Upazila Parishad. After the human chain, they gave a memorandum to the office of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer.
The promotion to the post of Headmaster, which has been closed since 2009, has not yet seen the light of day. Primary teachers have to join as assistant teachers and retire in the same post. Apart from this, departmental promotion of head teachers has also been blocked. For this reason, the Primary Teachers Organization Coordination Council has demanded promotion of assistant teachers from the entry post to tenth grade and 100% departmental promotion.
In order to solve the organized discrimination, the speakers of the Primary Teachers’ Association Coordination Council said that assistant teachers with 100% departmental promotion should be fixed in grade 10 and head teachers in grade 9.
Kazi Samsul Haque, Rasedul Islam, Mushida Khatun, Ariful Islam, Nuruzzaman Biswas, Shajahanul Haque, Sirajul Islam, Zakir Hossain and others were present in the human chain.
